Winning is just a bonus. Winning is just a bonus.
Winter 2024 - 50/50 Draw - $1,257,187.50 Winner John Gaudet, Etobicoke
John bought his first ticket package 16 years ago: “I tried other lotteries with no results, so I decided to play the Heart & Stroke Lottery. There’s a 1 to 2 chance of winning, and it made me feel good to support the cause – with this lottery, winning is just a bonus.
That decision has paid off a few times, with one $10,000 and two $1,000 wins in the past. He’d just arrived home from his job in construction when the phone rang: “When I listened to the call, I thought it might be a scam, so I decided to take a “wait and see” approach. A day later, a friend saw my name online checking their own tickets…okay, I did get a little excited then!”
A few days later, John drove to the golf course and park where he owns a trailer: “I bought a much nicer model. Instead of weekends, I’ll be there all summer golfing, enjoying myself, thinking about what’s next.” Grateful for the win, he adds: “I was just about to retire. Heart & Stroke made it happen a lot earlier – and a lot happier!”
