After 30 years of support, a million dollar win!

Janusz was at his local mall having coffee with a friend when his “million dollar call” came in: “I was asked to check my lottery ticket, and I said that my ticket was at home. Also, I just could not believe it – so I thanked her and hung up.”

Then, the phone rang a second time: “The representative told me that I was one of two Grand Prize winners. She gave me the winning ticket number, and I wrote it down. When I got home and compared it to the number on my ticket it was the same. I really was a Grand Prize winner!”

A retiree living in an apartment, Janusz is planning to buy a small home in the neighbourhood he’s been a part of for the past 40 years: “I want to keep close to my friends.” He’s also thinking about a trip to his homeland of Poland. 

For Janusz, buying tickets for more than three decades was never about winning: “For me, it’s all about giving researchers the money they need to save people’s lives. I don’t think twice about it.”
